    This was a great video. It's very descriptive & in depth with information, pertaining to the Freon recharge. I went to the shop & they wanted to charge me $80 dollars. While I've seen my neighborhood mechanic do the whole process. I bought the Freon for about $14 dollars & the mechanic took about seven minutes to finish the whole thing. And I only paid him five dollars. But, I haven't been able to find him. So I went on RUclips to learn it, because it's summer & I'm in need for my air conditioning.

    you might wanna get a cap for your low side.... most manufacturer will void any ac warranty if the cap is missing. it's not there just to keep dirt off the Schrader valve, but it's the last seal in the system.

    THE FIRST THING YOU DO BEFORE YOU EVER ATTEMPT TO CHARGE ANY AC SYSTEM BOTH CAR AND HOME TO COMMERCIAL WHICH NONE OF THESE PEOPLE TELL YOU IS TO CLEAN YOUR CONDENSER. A DIRTY CONDENSER CAN RAISE THE HIGH HEAD PRESSURE 100lbs. SO CHARGING YOUR DIRTY CONDENSOR CAN READ HIGH SIDE PRESSURES UP TO 275-300 LBS OVER WORKING YOUR COMPRESSOR WHICH WILL LEAD TO BLOWING IT. CLEANING YOUR COMPRESSOR IS A EASY PROCEEDOR. SPRAY SOME FANTASTIC CLEANER ON YOUR CONDENSER AND LET IT SOAK FOR 5-10 MINUTES. RINSE IT DOWN WITH A HOSE AND NOW YOU ARE READY TO SAFELY CHARGE YOUR SYSTEM. SOMETIMES JUST CLEANING YOUR CONDENSOR WILL RESTORE THE AC UNIT WITHOUT EVEN NEEDING A CHARGE OR JUST A VERY SMALL TOP OFF TO THE SYSTEM. BY CHARGING WITH A DIRTY CONDENSOR YOU MY OVERCHARGE THE SYSTEM TO THE POINT WHERE IT DOESN'T WORK BLOWING THE COMPRESSOR OR RUPTURING THE AC HOSES. AS A RULE OF THUMB "CLEAN THE CONDENSOR FIRST". I CLEAN MY CAR CONDENSOR EVERY 2 YEARS..

    • @CTR2017

      Agree 100% Thanks Frank! -- yes a good "rule of thumb" !

    • @Frank289100
      @Frank289100 7 лет назад

      AS LONG AS YOU REMEMBER IT AS "A RULE OF THUMB". YOU'LL ALWAYS HAVE A AC SYSTEM THAT WORKS THE WAY IT DID WHEN THE CAR WAS BRAND NEW.

    Hi :) Thank you for sharing it sir. I do 2 questions if you don't mind. 1- Do you refill the AC gas in the low pressure valve? 2- what the high pressure line is for!? I am sorry, I am new to this Diy. Thank you :)

      Question 1: Yes Question 2: Service ports ( high and low pressure valves) are provided in each refrigerant flowing line which is required to service the A/C. It allows the removal of any air present inside the supply lines and also the re-filling of the refrigerant is done through these ports. Both ports are used to test the performance of the system, but refilling the refrigerant normally requires the use of low pressure service port. Thanks,

    i don't have a leak no where on my AC it hold Freon just want get come

    • @CTR2017
      @CTR2017 9 лет назад

      William Hamilton If you just want it to get cold and your air conditioning isn’t blowing cold air, there are a few different things that could be wrong with it. Here are some of the most common issues and what you can do to fix them.It Needs RechargingThe most common cause of an air conditioner not getting cold enough is that it needs to be recharged. You can recharge your refrigerant by yourself, As you have done before, follow the instructions on this video. This time around, make sure you get an accurate outside Temperature reading. Adjust your Dial to the accurate temperature, then get as much FREON in, without going past the GREEN. Remember don't over fill and go past the into the RED. There’s a Freon LeakFreon is the chemical that cools the air, so if there’s a leak in the system, it will eventually run low or run out. Freon leaks may be very, very slow. If you add more Freon and lose your cold air within a few weeks, however, you may need to have the hoses and other system components checked and replaced.The A/C Compressor May Not EngageThis problem can occur due to a variety of conditions. Failure can occur when there’s an electrical fault in your compressor’s circuit or clutch, Freon can be low or the vehicle can be overheating.Today’s cars are computer controlled and one of the first systems that is turned off when the computer senses an engine problem is the A/C system. Usually, the malfunctioning part has to be replaced by a qualified mechanic. The Blend Air Door is StuckThere’s a small hatch inside your car’s ventilation system called the “blend air door”. When you turn your environmental system from heat to cold, the door should change to drawing in cold air. If it doesn’t change, it will still be drawing heat from the engine and blowing it on you! Again, this is a job for a qualified mechanic.You Can Feel Cold Air, But It’s Not BlowingThis could mean the A/C’s fan has stopped working. It may be as simple as changing a wire, or you may need a new fan unit. Again, this isn’t something you can really change yourself, especially since it may require taking apart your car’s dashboard to reach all of the components. Other IssuesYour A/C system is complicated, and while there are some easy fixes like adding Freon, there are also more difficult issues that only a trained and certified mechanic can fix. In a few cases, the problem is indicative of more severe issues, but usually repairing the A/C is a fairly simple job, even when a mechanic has to handle it. You may need have your A/C checked out by a certified mechanic. They will diagnose and track down your issue and hopefully with an affordable solution possible! Hope this helps... Good Luck to you... Hope you find the culprit.

    my car it got freon in it it blow a lil cold but not cold enough what can i do to get it ice cold

    • @CTR2017
      @CTR2017 9 лет назад

      William Hamilton William, First thing first, check the compressor to see if its locked. With the Engine turned off. Find the compressor and try to spin it with your hand, it is does not turn, it's locked and you will need to change it out - Bad Compressor. If the compressor spins with your hand, try and find some wet spots. It is indicative of a leak ( You may have a leak ) If you have a leak, you can try "R-134a Super Seal" (google it) or a "STOP LEAK" product from your auto store "Ask your Auto shop attendant for one". Good luck !

      Syed Ahsan Syed here is a good reference link. Click on it, then click on HONDA and look for the Accord.Looks like The 1997 Honda Accord takes R134 . www.techchoiceparts.com/refrigerant-and-oil-capacities/efgh#honda More info: Back in the day 1995, car cooling systems were made with R-12. R-12 was very hazardous to the environment. So it was banned in December of 1995. After this year, ALL Cars are equipped with R-134a valve fittings. So your 1997 car is equipped to handle the R134a. Know, older cars ( all cars prior to 1995) these car cooling systems are equipped with R-12. The R-12 is no longer being produced so it is not only hard to find but very expensive if you do find it. This video will help you out..

      Adolfo Perez To Check and put Freon -- the engine must be on and the AC needs to be turned on and on MAX. That is the basic requirement.

    I did exactly what u did on your video and lights come on but not the halo part and on is brighter then the other. What could it be?

    • @CTR2017
      @CTR2017 9 лет назад

      Krystal -- In the video I initially connected the Halo projector light WHITE wire (Power source cable) to the Car's RED wire. The Red Wire is HIGH BEAM LIGHTS -- so if you turn on your lights the LED lights won't turn on, until you TURN ON the HIGH BEAM lights your bright lights. Later, After the video was made, I decided to connect the HALO projector WHITE wire to the Car's VIOLET wire- that is the LOW BEAMS this way I could show off my Halo LED lights without having to go to switch to the Bright Lights all the time. This way when you turn on the Low Beams The L.E.D lights come on. Connecting the Halo Projector white wire connection to the Car's Violet LOW BEAM wire - will give you this result: (if you are standing in front of your car lights) the right smaller light and Halo and LED lights will come on. When you switch to bright lights -Only the Left bigger light and Halo will come on - No LED LIGHT or smaller Halo will come on. Hope this helps. Yea I found this weird too. I just lived with it. As far as "one is brighter than the other"... check your White wire connection in the step where you had to strip some of the plastic casing to reveal wire -- make sure you did not cut pass the plastic and cut into the wire and thinned out the wire. Also check to make sure all white wires are held tightly in the Crimp Connector --there is a possibility that that are loose or they have been stripped too thin and not enough power is running through them because of thinned out wires.. Hope this helps.. (Not sure why the LINES are going through my sentences... Disregard those lines)

    If you don't know where the low pressure port is located in your car. I recommend you Google the following: Example: " low pressure port location Honda accord"... replacing "Honda accord" with your car model or better yet, checking your car manual. If you don't have a car Manuel - visit your local library and find the Chilton's Repair manual for your Car.

    Does Refrigerant 134a works for any car? does it matter what kind of refrigerant you use? I have 2006 Hyundai Accent... Please answer as soon as possible. thanks

    • @CTR2017
      @CTR2017 10 лет назад

      Yes will work in a 2006 car. Back in the day 1995, car cooling systems were made with R-12. R-12 was very hazardous to the environment. So it was banned in December of 1995. After this year, ALL Cars are equipped with R-134a valve fittings. So your 2006 car is equipped to handle the R134a. Know, older cars ( all cars prior to 1995) these car cooling systems are equipped with R-12. The R-12 is no longer being produced so it is not only hard to find but very expensive if you do find it. If an Older Car ( 1995 and prior) that begins to have problems with the cooling system, It must have the old R12 refrigerant removed by taking the vehicle to a licensed professional that has access to an R12 recovery machine. Releasing R12 freely into the atmosphere is illegal and can damage the environment; always dispose of R12 properly by letting a licensed professional handle it. The licensed Professional will then find the high side R12 service port and the low side R12 service port and install a retrofit R134A valve fittings on both using a torque wrench. Hope this helps...

    • @CTR2017

      AC Needs to be placed on Max--plug in Freon plug to low pressure line plug-- Leave the Freon can valve closed and check pressure. This is Approx. at 6:07 on the video.

    you made an easy task difficult, 1) locate the low pressure line 2)Start car 3)set gage 4) attach refrigerant line 5)open valve and watch the gage, tighten valve to reduce the rate at which its flowing when it gets close, lot quicker, or you could edit your video for the peoples sake you repeat your self alot i got it, ac settings at the max. 6)when it reaches it completely shut off valve 7)remove and enjoy.
